About Us
People Connected By Cancer is a non-profit organization
dedicated to assuring that all those touched by cancer in Oklahoma are
aware of the statewide resources available to support and serve them
through their cancer journey.
People Connected By Cancer is the culmination of a cooperative effort between
multiple Oklahoma medical centers, their staff members and many cancer-related
societies and organizations in Oklahoma. This partnership aims to raise
awareness of the scope of cancer prevalence in our community by connecting
survivors with each other and with those groups offering supportive care.

A Circle of Wellness: a free
annual event which provides survivors and their caregivers and families
the opportunity to
participate
in one-on-one or small group interactions to ask questions, pick-up materials
on service and support-related information, learn where to go or call
to get help, and how to provide support for others.
The Circle of Wellness,
also called a Medicine Wheel, is a meaningful Native American symbol
chosen for People Connected By Cancer. Each spoke represents
an aspect in life: spiritual, physical, mental and emotional. When these
aspects are in balance, healing in each of these areas is possible, and
one becomes complete and whole, represented by the circle. The circle
is also continuous, as is the cycle of life. The purple ribbon represents
all cancer survivors. The Circle of Wellness annual
event is a gathering to promote and support healing, balance, and wholeness
through the cancer journey.
