The 2011 Garden Walk for Hope & Awareness will be on Saturday, November 12 at the Biomedical Research Center, 920 Stanton L Young Boulevard, Oklahoma City, OK 73104-5036.  Registration will be at 8:30 a.m. and the program will begin at 9:00.  The featured speaker will be Colin FitzSimons, Chief Administrative Officer of the Stephenson Cancer Center and Associate Vice President for Cancer Programs. Dr. Shubham Pant will present his annual update on clinical trials and any developments in therapeutic interventions and detection assays.  Julie Linse will present a video honoring those who we have lost and we will recognize those who have led fund-raising events.  Bobby Jackson and his staff will lead the tour through the gardens following the program.  Refreshments provided by Panera will be available throughout the event. 

On Sunday, November 20 there will be a PURPLE LIGHT NATIONAL VIGIL FOR HOPE at The Beacon of Hope located at NE 8th Street and Stiles in Oklahoma City.  The Ceremony Sponsored by Pancreatic Cancer Action Network will begin at 7:00 p.m.  Register for this event at www.purplelight.org.

The Oklahoma Legislature has passed and it is now law, for the Pancreatic Cancer license plate.   Application forms will be coming out soon.
 
The Oklahoma Motor Vehicle Division has said it is quite possible the plates will be ready to be mailed, to those making application, by Nov. 1. 

The plate prefix will be PCR (pancreatic cancer research) with a number following the center ribbon.   Or, you may personalize your plate with all letters.
